Severe thunderstorms swept across Colorado on Sunday June 9th in the late afternoon, bringing heavy rain, hail, lightning, and gusty winds. The storms caused flooding in several areas, with emergency crews responding to reports of stranded vehicles.
In Douglas County, a lightning strike was captured on video, believed to have ignited a house fire in The Pinery neighborhood. Hail piled up on roads and in yards across the state, including Castle Rock, Aurora, and even the higher elevations of Fairplay.
